Welcome to Ken Schultz' and Cam Olson's website documenting our 2013 journey across Canada, aka Cam 'n Ken's Cross Canada Adventure! This trip was about 15 years in the making with its genesis in the early 1990's when Ken and Cam started to commute from Riverbend in the Southeast into downtown Calgary together. The idea germinated over hours and hours of cool, dark morning rides which eventually evolved into 14 years of annual bike trips in the mountains of Alberta, BC and Montana. Many of you have asked - and the rest of you have just wondered - why on earth did you want to ride our bikes across Canada? We're not entirely sure ourselves, but hopefully you will be able to find some clues and insights into that question on our Bio pages, in our FAQ's, and in our daily blogs that documented our crossing of the continent from June 2nd to July 31st... You can also join us on our ride across Canada in 4 minutes in the following videos:

When we first dreamed of riding across Canada, to be honest, it was not meant to raise funds for a good cause. However, doing something like this attracts a lot of attention, and so we thought it would be a great opportunity to generate awareness and support for El Jordán, an amazing organization that helps kids off the street in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. We truly appreciated that our followers reached out to help support El Jordán and in total gave close to $15,000 to help kids in Bolivia - THANK YOU!
More details on El Jordán and directions on how you can still give to help them can be found on the Donate page.

Here is a map of our planned route - yes we are dipping down into the USA to avoid Northern Ontario (so cancel the homecoming parade in Ken's birthplace of Dryden Ontario!). We will begin at the beginning of the mainland Transcanada Highway (Highway No. 1) at Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver and will finish at the Atlantic Ocean in Prince Edward Island.
Following is the route we actually travelled from June 2 to July 31, 2013 - the two maps look pretty identical!
Our final day by day detailed itinerary is set out below.
